This low-growing, multi-branched shrub typically reaches heights of 30 to 100 centimeters. In late spring and summer, it produces tiny, inconspicuous pale greenish-yellow flowers that lack petals and are clustered in the leaf axils, eventually giving way to small, three-lobed seed capsules.
