We respect your right to control your data. If you would like to delete your Snappit account, you can do so directly from within the app or by contacting us. This page explains the steps and what happens to your data when you request deletion.
1. How to Delete Your Account
There are two ways to delete your Snappit account:
Option A — Delete from the App
- Open the Snappit app on your device.
- Go to Settings (tap the gear icon).
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Option B — Request via Email
If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us at support@escalera.ai with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Please include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 5 business days.
2. Data That Is Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:
- Account profile — your name, email address, profile picture, and authentication credentials.
- Private user-generated content — private photos, snaps, journal entries, and collections you have uploaded that have not been publicly shared.
- Progress and achievements — XP, streaks, badges, and game progress across all Snappit apps.
- In-app preferences — theme settings, notification preferences, and display options.
3. Data That May Be Retained
Certain data may be retained for a limited period after account deletion for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons:
- Purchase records — transaction history for in-app purchases may be retained for up to 3 years to comply with tax and financial regulations. This data is anonymized and cannot be linked back to your identity.
- Aggregated analytics — anonymized, non-identifiable usage statistics (e.g., total app downloads, aggregate engagement metrics) may be retained indefinitely as they cannot be traced back to individual users.
- Publicly shared content — if you have publicly shared snaps or contributed content to the Snappit community, this content may be retained to preserve the integrity of the shared experience. However, it will be fully de-associated from your account and will no longer display your name or profile information.
- Legal obligations — data required to comply with applicable laws, enforce our terms, or resolve disputes may be retained as required by law.
4. Effect on Purchases
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel active subscriptions managed through Google Play or the Apple App Store. To avoid future charges, please cancel any active subscriptions through your device's app store before deleting your account.
Previously purchased expansion packs or one-time purchases cannot be restored once your account is deleted.
5. Deletion Timeline
- In-app deletion: Your account and associated data are deleted immediately upon confirmation.
- Email request: We will process your request within 5 business days and send you a confirmation email once deletion is complete.
- Backup systems: Residual copies in encrypted backups will be purged within 30 days of the deletion request.
