A short out-and-back on the Sendero del Mar
Start on the Puertito de Güímar side and identify the authorised coastal path towards El Socorro using the entrance signs. Follow only its open, signed section, stopping for views of lava and sea, then return the same way. Allow 45–75 minutes including pauses; the distance depends on your chosen turnaround. This is a shortened visit on a documented path, not a separately waymarked loop. If the entrance signs do not clearly identify a permitted open route, remain in Puertito and ask locally rather than finding a way through the lava.
The short version reduces the commitment, not the roughness. Expect natural uneven ground; choose a turnaround before an awkward section, steps or an exposed edge. It is not verified as wheelchair- or pushchair-accessible.
