Los Yesares: the signed surface circuit
Start at the interpretation panel by Marchalico Viñicas and follow the signed circuit. The path climbs from the abandoned settlement onto the gypsum plateau, then returns towards the Río Aguas valley. The succession of ruins, old cultivation terraces and open rock helps explain how people used the same terrain that rainwater is still reshaping. Use the official leaflet to match the numbered panels to the landforms; no detour into a hollow or cave entrance is needed.
Expect a mixture of path and track, with an initial climb and uneven natural surfaces. There is no shade. The published 91 m is the difference between the route’s highest and lowest elevations, not a measured total ascent. Wheelchair and pushchair suitability is not established.
