La Bartola to Castell de Montornés
The municipal route sheet gives 3.5 km and 1 hour 30 minutes, rated moderate. From La Bartola, its approach follows the road uphill towards the convent, passing a coastal viewpoint before taking the signed castle path. The path crosses dense scrub, dips and rises again near the ruined fortification; return by the same signed way. Keep the leaflet handy, but use today’s signs and instructions at junctions. Allow extra time to look around and turn back before the ruins if the surface or exposure feels unsuitable.
A short distance does not make this an easy-access walk. Roadside walking, uneven mountain ground and the castle approach require care. It is unsuitable as a wheelchair or ordinary pushchair route. Adults should be able to supervise children continuously at traffic and ruin hazards.
