Balcón de Despeñaperros: the woodland loop
Begin beside Camping Despeñaperros at Calle Infanta Elena and Avenida de Andalucía, where the leaflet identifies a small parking area. Clockwise, the route passes through pines to the viewpoint early in the outing. Continue on woodland tracks, including a gentle uphill stretch, then return past the campsite boundary. The attraction is a broad southern panorama; use the centre’s interpretation for close detail of the famous rock formations.
The low walking grade does not certify step-free access. Expect an outdoor track-and-path surface, possible loose material and a roughly 400-metre section around 5% gradient on the complete loop. The shorter return avoids that later climb, but its surface, width and barriers still need checking for wheels.
