El Observatorio: the short birdwatching walk
The dedicated route listing gives 517 metres one way, so returning by the same route means about 1.03 kilometres of walking. The published outward estimate is 15 minutes; allow 45–75 minutes overall for looking and listening. Begin at the signed visitor-centre approach, pass beneath the railway and follow the El Observatorio signs towards the public hide. The route moves from an elevated lake view through recovering agricultural ground to a closer observation point. If the hide is closed, turn back rather than looking for a way around it.
Short distance and a low difficulty rating do not guarantee a level surface. Confirm the underpass approach, any thresholds and the hide’s viewing height if these matter to your group. No measured gradient or step-free specification is published in the route sheet.
