Nacimiento del Río Castril: the source walk
Start at Cortijo del Nacimiento and follow the signs for Nacimiento del Río Castril. The path runs upstream through the source valley. El Chinar de Túnez introduces the geological story, and Los Hiniestares interprets the head of the valley. Nearer the source, footing becomes stonier and the path rises and dips before reaching the viewpoint. Stay with the Nacimiento signs where other routes branch away. At the source viewpoint, enjoy the water emerging beneath the rock wall, then return the way you came; do not turn this walk into the Barranco de la Osa circuit.
Officially rated low difficulty, but this remains a path rather than a surfaced promenade. There are loose stones, uneven ground and water-management channels. A shorter turnaround reduces effort but does not remove edge or footing hazards; no step-free section is certified here.
