Ginkgo avenue and a garden pause
Start near the main car park and use the signs for the central ginkgo avenue. The operator describes approximately 520 m of avenue between this parking area and the athletics stadium, passing Flower Square. Walk only as far as your group enjoys; a return along the same open path keeps navigation simple. In early summer, look toward the hydrangea slopes rather than expecting autumn colour. Leave time to sit, watch the changing light and make a separate rose-garden stop if the day suits.
Allow 45–90 minutes with pauses; editorial estimate.
Avenues still have slopes. Check the surface and return gradient rather than assuming the entire garden area is step-free.
