Sentier des Ocres: the yellow short loop
Start at the managed entrance in Roussillon and follow the yellow arrows for the boucle courte. The municipal map gives 35 minutes and marks a belvédère along the shared part of the circuit. Use the site’s current plan at the entrance: this is a signposted visitor walk, so there is no need to improvise a path across the coloured slopes. The short loop is the sensible first choice if you want room for questions, photographs and a village stop afterwards.
Sandy surfaces and stair sections make the loop a walking route rather than a wheelchair or pushchair circuit. Being short does not make it level. For young children, use a suitable carrier only if the adult is comfortable carrying them on steps.
