Opened on May 1, 1999, the Newport Aquarium has delighted families for over two decades. It is owned by Herschend Family Entertainment Corp. and is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), upholding rigorous standards for animal welfare and conservation. A notable achievement in its history is the successful shark ray breeding program, established in 2007, making it the first aquarium to successfully breed these rare creatures.
