Zootah's history dates back to 1970 when it first opened as the Willow Park Zoo in Logan, Utah. The zoo was founded thanks to the passion of Doug Eames, who convinced city leaders to establish a bird aviary focusing on pheasants and waterfowl. For many years, the facility was funded and operated by Logan City.A significant transformation occurred in 2013 when the zoo transitioned from a municipal entity to a private non-profit organization. This change allowed for new investments and enhanced animal living conditions. In 2017, the Willow Park Zoo rebranded and changed its name to Zootah at Willow Park, marking a new chapter in its development as an educational and conservation center for the Cache Valley community.
Enjoy the shaded, tree-lined paths, observe a variety of local and exotic birds, mammals, and reptiles, participate in animal feeding opportunities, and check for daily keeper talks or educational programs.
