The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden officially opened its doors in 1984, establishing a significant horticultural landmark for North Texas. Its 66 acres were originally composed of two historic estates: the Alex Camp House and the 44-acre DeGolyer Estate. The DeGolyer House, a magnificent 21,000-square-foot Latin Colonial Revival style home built in 1939, remains a centerpiece of the gardens, offering a glimpse into the past.
