Selwo Aventura first opened its doors on November 24, 1999, and was officially inaugurated on December 10, 1999, marking it as a significant new entertainment project on the Costa del Sol. Over its two decades of operation, the park has continuously evolved, introducing new animal species, habitats, and adventure activities to enhance the visitor experience. Notably, Selwo Aventura has made significant contributions to conservation. In 2008, it celebrated the birth of Kanvar, the first Asian elephant born in Spain. The park also became the first private animal park in Spain to host the critically endangered Iberian lynx in 2015 with the arrival of Javo and Judía, demonstrating its commitment to international breeding and conservation programs. The addition of the Selwo Lodge hotel, with its Watu and Masai villages, further enhanced the park's immersive offerings, allowing guests to extend their adventure with an overnight stay.
