Evergreen Rotary Park holds a rich history dating back to its acquisition by the city of Bremerton in 1908, with its official dedication in May 1909. Initially conceived as a vital playground for the city's children, the park has continuously evolved, adapting to the changing needs of the community. Throughout its past, the park has served various roles, including as a campground for motorists in the 1920s and even being utilized by the federal government for military training and housing during both World War I and World War II. A community-funded public pool was a prominent feature from 1953 until its closure in 1979, with its materials eventually repurposed to form the park's seawall.
