Sea Life Kansas City first opened its doors on April 6, 2012, at the Crown Center, bringing the wonders of the ocean to the heart of Missouri. The aquarium is owned and operated by Merlin Entertainments, a global leader in location-based entertainment, which also manages numerous other Sea Life aquariums worldwide. Since its inception, it has aimed to provide both entertainment and education, focusing on marine conservation efforts and showcasing creatures from both local freshwater ecosystems and distant oceans.
Explore all 11-12 themed zones, participate in daily educational talks and animal feedings, and feel marine creatures at the touch pool. For an additional cost, you can also experience their Virtual Reality Experience, an immersive, motion-activated VR ride.
As an entirely indoor attraction, Sea Life Kansas City is a great destination regardless of the weather. Seasonal events or holiday periods might feature special programming, but can also lead to increased visitor numbers.
Sea Life Kansas City is fully wheelchair and ADA accessible, featuring wide exhibit pathways and smooth indoor flooring throughout. Accessible restrooms are available within the Crown Center complex.
