Lakeshore Park has a rich history, tracing its origins back to 1922 when the Dodge Brothers Company generously donated 25.82 acres of land along Walled Lake's southern bank to the State of Michigan. Initially known as "Dodge Brothers Park Number 2," it was operated by the state until its transfer to the City of Novi in 1947. In recent years, the park has undergone significant enhancements, including major renovations in 2019 and a multi-year construction project that saw the development of a new 6,200-square-foot building for Novi Parks and Library programming, an enhanced parking lot, and new playgrounds, which were largely completed by November 2020. These improvements have further solidified Lakeshore Park's role as a premier recreational facility in the region.
